Their challenge was to understand the search intent of their inventory so that they could optimise it for Google either by merging search categories or by leaving them unmerged.
I helped them by extracting the keywords from each category, queried the search engine results and compared them to each other.
They have reported rank gains of 5 on average per merged category.
