By the time I finished, I had written 167 emails, built them all and organized them into sequential journeys. This resulted in a 23% increase in click-through rates and much higher product usage. These journeys are still in use today.

The Challenge

Paytient needed several customer journeys written and produced in a short amount of time. There were over 150 emails that needed to be created, edited, built and tested in less than six months.

The Process

The process was very simple. I followed three steps:

  1. Deep Dive - I spent the first two weeks asking lots of questions, interviewing employees, researching competitors and doing everything possible to learn about the industry and the company. I had to earn a mini-masters degree, essentially, in a couple of weeks so I could write intelligently.
  2. Test, test, test - I had my first email journey out the door about two days after I finished my initial interviews. The goal was to test what I had learned and see how the market responded.
  3. Just write, baby - After the initial tests, I had a messaging framework from which to work and then it was just consistently attacking all of the needed emails and doing so as quickly as possible.

The Solution

By the time I finished, I had written 167 emails, built them all and organized them into sequential journeys. This resulted in a 23% increase in click-through rates and much higher product usage. These journeys are still in use today.
